Who is responsible

ClassConnect is operated by Guy Williams from Australia. It is an independent education service for people aged 13 and over, including teenagers. This notice covers the ClassConnect website, accounts, class collaboration, resource sharing and study features.

For privacy questions, access or correction requests, deletion requests, complaints, or concerns about a young person's information, email privacy@classconnect.au. The operator monitors this address and handles requests. Please do not send passwords, class join codes or unnecessary sensitive documents.

Information the service uses

Some information comes directly from you, some from your sign-in provider, and some is created through your use of the service. If you do not provide information required for an account or feature, that account or feature may not work.

  • Account and profile information: your account identifier, name, email, optional profile photo, sign-in method and session information. Clerk handles authentication; ClassConnect does not maintain its own password database.
  • Class and collaboration information: class memberships and roles, join codes, resource details, posts, replies, events and notifications.
  • Files and resource information: uploads, filenames, descriptions, tags, subject classifications, versions, publication screening results, saved resources and library folders.
  • Study information: selected source material, questions, chat context, generated study materials, practice and quiz activity, answers, attempts, progress and study sessions.
  • Feature access: subscription status, expiry and usage information used to determine access to Free and Plus features.
  • Technical information: browser and request information, such as IP addresses, browser details, request paths, timestamps and errors, may be processed by the hosting and service providers for delivery, security and operational diagnostics.
  • Correspondence: messages and the information you choose to include when contacting support, privacy or copyright addresses.

How information is used

We use information to sign you in, maintain your account, enforce class and resource permissions, provide sharing and collaboration, generate study tools, record progress, apply feature entitlements, investigate problems and respond to requests.

Resource publication screening and classification help identify possible privacy, security, safety and copyright concerns. Automated screening is not a guarantee that a file is safe, lawful or accurate.

We do not use private class messages, uploaded source content or study conversations to select advertising audiences. Google advertising is currently disabled.

Sharing with other users

Class content is available to people with the relevant class permissions. Choosing to publish a resource to the Resource Hub is a separate action from sharing it within a class. Published Hub resources are made available through the Hub to its users.

Do not upload other people's identifying, sensitive or confidential information without appropriate permission. A class join code is an access credential, not a guarantee that every member is a verified teacher or student.

People who download or copy material can retain their copies. Removing a resource from ClassConnect cannot recall copies already obtained by others. We may also disclose information when required by law or where necessary to address a safety, security or legal issue.

Service providers and overseas processing

Clerk provides authentication. Replit provides hosting, database, file-storage and integration services; file storage uses Google Cloud Storage infrastructure. AI features use OpenAI through Replit's AI integration. Google Fonts supplies interface fonts. Cloudflare provides domain DNS and email routing; forwarded support correspondence is handled in a Google-hosted inbox.

These providers receive the information needed for their services and may process or store information outside Australia. We do not promise Australia-only storage, particular overseas destinations, or exclusion from provider retention or training practices without verified arrangements. Their applicable terms and privacy notices describe their own processing.

What AI features read

Publication screening can send uploaded text, images or rendered PDF pages and publication details for automated risk checks. Resource classification can use source content and metadata. Search interpretation sends the search query.

Study tools send selected extracted resource text, resource or curriculum information, your question, recent conversation context and relevant progress context as needed to generate materials or responses. Generated materials and study activity can be stored with your account.

AI can make mistakes. Check answers against reliable sources and your teacher's guidance. Do not include unnecessary personal, sensitive or confidential information in uploads, prompts or conversations.

Cookies and Google advertising

Sign-in uses cookies and session technology. Functional browser storage can remember quiz sound preferences and the selected study session. Hosting services may also process operational traffic information. See the cookie notice for details.

ClassConnect currently includes an AdSense ownership-verification meta tag, not an advertising script. Google ads are not being served by this integration, advertising consent is not being collected, and ad-based download credits are not active.

If Google advertising is introduced, third-party vendors, including Google, may place and read cookies, use web beacons, IP addresses or other identifiers to serve and measure ads. Where personalization is permitted, Google's advertising cookies enable Google and its partners to serve ads based on prior visits to this website and/or other websites.

Other participating ad vendors and networks may also use cookies or identifiers. Their identities and applicable choice controls must be disclosed before that integration is enabled. Users can manage Google's personalized advertising through Ads Settings and participating third-party choices through the Digital Advertising Alliance. These external settings are not a replacement for consent controls required on this site.

Future advertising must respect applicable consent requirements and protections for children and teenagers. The advertising choices page describes the current disabled status.

Young people

ClassConnect is intended for people aged 13 and over. People under 13 should not create an account. This age statement is not a technical age-verification system and does not establish parental consent.

Young people, parents, guardians and authorised representatives can contact privacy@classconnect.au about information, access or deletion concerns. We may need to check identity and authority before discussing an account. If you believe an under-13 account or inappropriate student information is present, contact us rather than posting the information publicly.

Personalized advertising and rewarded download access are not enabled. An account registration or a browser setting is not treated as proof that a user is an adult or has given advertising consent.

Retention and deletion

Information is kept while needed to provide the features you use and, where applicable, to deal with security, disputes or legal obligations. There is no single fixed retention period covering every account record, file, study record, log and provider-held copy. Retention decisions consider the purpose of the information, whether it is still needed, and applicable obligations.

Use the deletion controls available for content you are authorised to manage, or contact the privacy address to request review of other information. There is not currently a single self-service action that erases an entire account across Clerk, the database, file storage, backups, logs and every service provider.

Deletion does not necessarily remove all copies immediately. Backup, log and provider records can follow separate retention arrangements, and other users may keep downloaded copies. We will assess a request and explain what can be removed and any relevant limitations.

Access, correction and complaints

Email privacy@classconnect.au with your account email and a description of the information or concern. We may ask for proportionate information to establish identity or authority before providing records or making changes. Never send your password.

The operator will review access, correction, deletion and privacy complaints, clarify the scope where needed, and respond with the outcome or next steps. This notice does not promise a particular response deadline or automatic erasure of every copy.

If a privacy concern is not resolved, information about Australian privacy rights and complaint options is available from the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. Availability of a particular complaint process depends on the applicable law and circumstances.
